These very reasonably priced and very precise oscillators in the temperature ranges -40/+85 °C@±20 ppm (series: CSO-1291) as well as -40/105 °C@±20 ppm and -40/+125 °C@+-20 ppm, (series: CSO-1289) may be operated with any supply voltage in the range of 2.25 – 3.63 VDC (order prefix “XX”).
This is ingenious, since, as of now, the user is provided with two SMD oscillator series that can be used in all applications requiring a clock oscillator. On the one hand, these two oscillator series provide very precise standard frequency stabilities and, on the other hand, the free feature regarding the supply voltage range of 2.25 – 3.63 VDC means the developer only has to only test one oscillator and can therefore use the same oscillator with the common supply voltages of 2.5 VDC, 2.8 VDC, 3.0 VDC, or 3.3 VDC. As a consequence, the developer saves a great deal of time and money for the company.
For the supply chain, these two oscillator series mean only one oscillator has to be purchased and managed, thus saving a great deal of time and money in the purchasing department. Moreover, using the versions in the VDD range of 2.25 – 3.63 VDC also allows the stocks to be significantly reduced, since the right oscillator is always available in stock in the optimal quantity, for whichever supply voltage and application. It is no longer necessary to manage a corresponding oscillator for every single supply voltage. Furthermore, this increases the company’s liquid funds.
Additional advantages of the CSO-1291 and CSO-1289 series SMD oscillators include the very low power consumption, the extreme durability (MTBF 500M hours), as well as the very high impact and vibration resistances.
